Prometheus Explained

The Prometheus gaming project has but one goal: to offer a more open alternative to the d20STL offered by Wizard of the Coast, Inc.

To that end, we have developed a logo and license for use with the OGL that would allow publisers to declare compatibility with other Prometheus works without asking that the publisher to censor his work.

The Prometheus license only asks that the published work be compatible with the documents known as the PRD's and be released under the OGL.

The Prometheus license offers publishers security. The licensee may use any version of the license that they choose, even older versions. Use of the logo by a licensee is granted in perpetuity as long as they follow the rules of the license.

The Prometheus license offers publishers freedom. The Prometheus license contains no terms that restrict the contents of covered works.

The Prometheus Reference Documents

The Prometheus Reference Documents are a set of role-playing game rules using the System Reference Document published by Wizards of the Coast, Inc. as a base, but including character creation and advancement rules. The Prometheus SRD is available for download below in several formats.

OpenDie Explained

The Opendie logo and license is designed to establish of a set of guidelines or best practices involving the Open Game License. Specifically, the OpenDie logo should be found on products that follow solid practices for clearly indicating OGC and that are Open, and Reuse friendly

Among the guidelines the OpenDie project establishes, are that the covered product be licensed under an approved open game license, that is contain a minimum percentage of the product declared as open content, and that it will follow certain open gaming best practices that help support the open gaming community.
